We are partnering with our El Cerrito, CA consumer products client to recruit a Visual Content Designer to join their photo and design production team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will split your time between tactical design work for print and digital work, and will also leverage your background in photography and photo editing to supplement team expertise. This is a new position to the org, and you will serve as a bridge between internal creative experts, understanding how to leverage beautiful photo work alongside creating fresh design work for print and digital channel. This role is hands on in design, photography and photo editing, so dedicated experience in those areas is absolutely required. You will need to bring 4+ years of relevant experience in both the design and photo worlds, have a stellar portfolio with both design and photo samples, and will have experience in consumer products, retail or similar industries. Product photography and catalogue experience is also required.

This is a brand new role on a tight-knit creative team that has a studio onsite and all of the tools for you to be successful in producing gorgeous, finalized work! This is a permanent opportunity set to be fully onsite working in the East Bay studio office. Salary ranges from $90,000 to $115,000 annually, with potential flexibility for the right blend of industry and experience. You will:

  • Work alongside an in-house team of brand creative to ideate, strategize and execute on integrated creative campaigns, with a significant focus in product photography for web and catalog use, layout design and production, high-volume photo editing and more
  • Own graphic design projects from concept through production to finalized project, working across print, digital and more
  • Leverage photo expertise and background to lead product photography projects, photo editing and similar work on the photo side
  • Support photoshoot set up and execution, ensuring cohesion in lighting, set-up, aesthetic, etc.
  • Serve as a partner to marketing, communications and sales teams, working with departments to scope and execute new design projects
  • Be a creative strategy partner to the organization, curating brand expertise and identifying opportunities to evolve

Your experience should include:

  • 4+ years of blended, professional design and photography experience with comfort working across the design process from ideation, production, editing and more
  • In-depth experience in product photography and product photo editing
  • Strong, hands on graphic design experience
  • Industry experience in consumer products, retail or similar businesses with experience designing and photographing for print, digital, catalogue and similar projects
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, highly preferred
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Photoshop, AfterEffects, etc.), project management and DAM tools
  • A passion for cross-functional partnership, brainstorming and creative collaboration
