Job Description

We are recruiting for a Logistics Manager to oversee route schedules, customer deliveries, ensure DOT compliance, manage fleet maintenance, and support the achievement of company safety and performance goals.

Specifically, this position will:

  • Ensure compliance with all DOT/FMCSA regulations and CDL operational standards.
  • Cover routes as needed and maintain up-to-date knowledge of all customer delivery routes.
  • Oversee random DOT drug screening processes and documentation.
  • Collaborate with customer service and production to address delivery concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with leasing companies on vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Ride along with drivers from time to time to monitor performance, provide onsite customer service, and build relationships with drivers.
  • Cover shifts as a driver when necessary due to absence or vacancies.
  • Oversee transportation supply inventory and manage invoice approvals.
  • Manage fleet reporting and ensure timely submission of data and compliance reports.
  • Monitor and manage transportation costs while meeting employee turnover goals.
  • Ensure new hires are trained on, and all staff follow, company policies, objectives, and safety standards.
  • Supervise a staff of 10 drivers with 24/7 routes within a 200 mile radius.

Candidates should possess:

  • High school diploma, Clean Driving Record, and a Class A CDL
  • 1+ year as a driver, and 1+ year supervisory experience in transportation/logistics.
  • Strong leadership and team training skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective conflict resolution and accountability skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must meet all DOT and company compliance requirements (drug screen, physicals, certifications, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to push/pull carts weighing up to 800 lbs. (on wheels)
  • Lift up to 25 lbs. overhead
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb stairs for up to 10 hours per day
  • Capable of repetitive arm motions
  • Available to drive nights and weekends
  • Must be able to speak and read English fluently; minimum of rough Spanish preferred.
