Job Description

Renewal Unlimited, Inc. is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Housing Navigator to support low-income families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This is an exciting grant-funded opportunity to provide critical housing services, improve lives, and connect families to long-term stability and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct housing needs assessments and present viable placement options.
  • Develop personalized housing support plans based on individual family needs.
  • Assist with understanding lease agreements and move-in procedures.
  • Ensure housing units meet Housing Quality Standards (HQS).
  • Help families identity needed safety and health items for children.
  • Connect clients with local resources such as healthcare, child care, and transportation.
  • Assist pregnant women and families in enrolling in qualified health insurance programs.
  • Serve as a key point of contact throughout a family’s housing journey.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or equivalent training/experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in homelessness and housing accessibility.
  • Familiarity with community resources and housing systems.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Willingness to be trained in Coordinated Entry, motivational interviewing, cultural competency, and trauma-informed care.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with vulnerable or at-risk populations.
  • Knowledge of housing programs, landlord-tenant relations, and rental processes.
