Job Description

Position Summary:

The Business Analyst will support the company's strategic efforts by conducting quantitative and business analytics work. Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Business Analytics, this position will analyze our portfolio, develop and maintain financial models for individual projects, and update our project-level financial model to reflect legislative and regulatory changes. Additionally, the Business Analyst will provide strategic insights through market analysis and regularly engage with stakeholders both within and outside the company.

Essential Job Functions/Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Analysis and Project Support : Analyze the company's portfolio to identify trends and opportunities, present findings to senior management, and support our business development and project development teams with specific quantitative analysis.
  • Financial Modeling and Regulatory Review : Regularly update and maintain the company's project-level financial model to ensure accuracy and relevance, and understand the quantitative impacts of regulatory changes by analyzing laws, regulations, tariffs, and similar documentation.
  • Strategic Insights : Provide strategic direction by conducting in-depth market analysis and identifying emerging trends that support long-term business planning.
  • Market Knowledge : Enhance our knowledge by engaging with regulators, utilities, vendors, customers, and/or competitors, developing the skills to stay informed and connected with the market.

Qualifications:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficient with Excel and comfortable analyzing data, macros/coding a plus.
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory matters and financial modeling.

Education/Experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in renewable energy or similar work that has exposed the candidate to either quantitative or regulatory aspects of the industry.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000

Ability to Travel : 3-6 times per year (1-3 nights at a time)
